This Duo combines the unique voices of classical singer, Yvette Coleman & jazz pianist, Florian Hoefner. The project originated in the summer of 2014 when they were invited to perform together at the Gros Morne Summer Music Festival in Corner Brook, New Foundland. Their program of folk songs, covers & jazz standards with a carefully crafted balance between all-time classics & some rarely heard gems immediatedly captured audiences on the island. Coleman’s haunting voice & Hoefner’s rich harmonic language & rhythmic finesse bring out the hidden beauties of many pieces & let even the most familiar tunes shine in a completely new light.
