Jesse Cook – Classical Pianist
From Georgia to New York: Piano Debut Concert of a 17 year old on a Quest to share its Beauty & Power
Program: works by –
Scarlatti – Mozart – Chopin – Beethoven – Rachmaninoff
Born & raised in Georgia, at a very young age, Jesse’s parents noticed his ear for music as he would hum & whistle familiar melodies spot on, note for note. At age 5, Jesse was introduced to the piano by his musician Dad. Jesse’s Mom was brought up on classical music because of her Father’s love for it. Jesse’s Grandfather helped to facilitate that ear by gifting Jesse with a his entire classical music collection. This planted the seed of a strong desire to pursue the path of learning to perform classical piano repertoire. Teachers were then sought out to connect Jesse with the classical music community. With these teacher’s encouragements, Jesse entered multiple competitions over a span of 8 years winning most of them. In March 2017, while performing at Dr. Yumi Patterson’s student Spring Recital, Rev. Dick Leonard attended & heard Jesse. Between Dick & Dr. Patterson, this August 2017 concert in NYC has been created.
