Children’s Corner Suite – Claude Debussy, Sonata in D minor (The Tempest), Op. 32 No. 2 – Ludwig van Beethoven & 24 Preludes, Op. 28 – Frederic Chopin.
Edward Kortis studied piano & composition at Boston University School of Fine & Applied Arts. Upon graduating, he continued his academic work at NYU Graduate School of Music completing with a Master’s Degree. Edward Kortis has been teaching piano privately for 25 years in New York. Performing history – recitals at Middle Collegiate Church, The Friends Meeting House, New York University & Steinway Hall (the Leschetitsky Society); accompanist for vocalists & choruses including The Local 1199/SEIU Retired Peoples’ Chorus, NYC Labor Chorus, Jewish Peoples’ Philharmonic Chorus, De Goldene Keyt, baritone Peter Schlosser, NYU New Music Ensemble & volunteer work with The Louis Armstrong Institute for Music & Medicine; musical theatre (composer, music director, arranger, accompanist).
Concert Charge – $15.00 Suggested – at the door.
