Wednesday – April 15, 2015 – 7:15p. – 9:30p. – DiMenna Center – Cary Hall (lower level) – ELIZABETH TRYON ALBUM RELEASE CONCERT – “A Lovely Light: Songs by Deems Taylor” – 450 West 37th St. (between 9th & 10th Aves. – on 10th Ave. end of West 37th St.) – Cary Hall (lower level) – www.dimennacenter.org. Elizabeth Tryon (Vocalist) – www.elizabethtryon.com (Pianist George Small on the recording). Soprano Elizabeth Tryon & Pianist Seth Weinstein will perform lost works by American composer Deems Taylor (1885-1966)with lyrics by Pulitzer Prize winning poet Edna St. Vincent Millay, Robert Burns & addtional poets from Elizabeth’s NEW Album released on the Centaur Records label. Deems Taylor was one of America’s truly original 20th century composers, his works crossing between serious classical & a somewhat popular vein. An ASCAP Board of Directors member for over 30 years, he also served as ASCAP President 1942-1948.
